Commissions
I am always taking private commissions. Here is a basic price guide. Of course, these are base prices and will be adjusted according to the complexity and composition of the piece.
11x14 inches $1000.00+shipping
16x20 inches $2000.00+shipping
18x24 inches $3000.00+shipping
…and up.
The process of a commission usually goes as follows. Once we agree on the subject, size, price, and schedule, the first payment is due. This amount varies, but, is usually around 30% of the total cost. After that, I will do several sketches, usually and black and white and almost always done digitally, for approval. Sometimes, but not always, there is a color sketch phase where the chosen sketch is colored digitally, and again, shown for approval. Once all that is done the work on the final oil painting is started. Once the piece is finished, I will send the image via email as a .jpg file for final approval. Once it is approved, the final payment is due. Once that is received, I ship the final painting to its forever home.
